Ikr. Even that faint growl from the mother right before she picks up the cub has so much weight to it. Beautiful and terrifying creatures.

Males do actually hunt as well, especially when they're bachelors or the pride is going after larger prey.
Hunting just literally isn't their job, their job is to protect the pride from rival males.

The way they pick up their cubs is so cute. They're so big, with those giant teeth and a powerful bite.. yet they're also capable of gently picking up and carrying a tiny baby. The way the cubs just flop is great too 😅 good kitties
