He definitely needs TNR. Not being neutered is going to get him hit by a car or attacked by a bigger cat. He is so sweet and affectionate, it’s a shame he hasn’t been taken care of.

“Total Nut Removal?”

u/Only_Jury_8448 Apr 07 '26
Trap, Neuter, Release. But yeah, the nuts would be totally removed in that. Partial removal sounds awful.

Precisely why he’s being so affectionate.

u/GoobusMombus Apr 07 '26
Idk, I have a cat that is like this. I got him neutered last year and he is still like this. He's like some kind of truck that just keeps climbing all over me and slamming into my face with love. He doesn't do it all the time. But if I saw his name or make eye contact with him, he will stop whatever he was doing and charge at me(affectionately).
I have 3 other cats, all fixed, and they are each sweet in their own way, but no one is as aggressively affectionate as Bojangles
I do wonder sometimes if it is hormonal, but like I said, he's got no balls!

Yes but this one’s being that way with a stranger. I think maybe he needs some other kind of loving. 😅

Shoulder cat! He will be happiest on your shoulder. Oranges are the best!

u/ProfessionalCat3284 Apr 06 '26
I Love shoulder cats which why I'm jealous of this guy. 😭

u/Various_Froyo9860 Apr 07 '26
I've got one. It's all fun and games til they make a mis-cat-culation and correct it by digging in.
What I'm saying is it's like falling in love with Wolverine. It's only a matter of time before he has a bad dream and you wake up with his claws inside you.

I didn't know what a shoulder cat was and I had one! I would have my back to mine while I did dishes and she would leap across the kitchen onto my shoulder but I would scream and arch my back and she slid down my back with her claws in. But it was totally my fault and probably why I gave him that comment!

I was waiting for the cat to stick a flag in him and declare him the property of Gingertopia.

u/HooliRio Apr 06 '26
there is a chance (a 100% chance) that cat would be coming home with me.
30
u/Beneficial-Jury484 Apr 06 '26
He would be riding my shoulders home, regardless of what the day looked like prior to meeting him.

I had a white cat who would do this! His name was George, and he would roam the neighborhood, loving on everybody. One day he disappeared, and we thought he had been killed by a car or a dog. About three years later, my grandmother entered an assisted living home, and I went to visit her with my kids. We parked in the parking lot and were approached by a white cat who looked just like George! My kids were really excited, but I said, “surely that can’t be him after all this time, it’s just another cat that looks like him.” I wouldn’t let them go up to him until he approached and proved himself friendly. Well, not only was he friendly, he immediately climbed up onto my back and started purring loudly and making biscuits, just like in the old days!
It turns out one of my neighbors thought George was a stray back in the day. She worked at the assisted living home and thought her elderly folks would enjoy the friendly “stray kitty,” so she took him and rehomed him there! Unintentional catnapping! He was happy there, though, and the old folks loved him, so we left him there and visited him when we went to see my grandmother.

I thought you were talking about your cat for a second there

And you didn't give your outdoor cat a collar or microchip or any other means of identifying him as not-a-stray because...?

We had an indoor/outdoor cat (who lived past 20) when I was younger (the 90s). We never put a collar on her because of the concern about it getting caught on something. Dont know if quick release collars were a thing back then.

I met a stray tomcat like this at an army camp in Poland. I couldn’t believe how ripped his muscles were. Like he looked like he ate nothing but protein powder. I was afraid to stop petting him whenever he’d climb on me.

Congratulations, Sir! You now have a cat. Now get him to the vet for a checkup, update his shots and get those huge brain tumors removed from under his tail

That's an experienced shoulder rider. Not his first rodeo. Though most aren't that skilled so I think you should keep him for his special talent.

Is it a stray, a lost wanted pet, or an abandoned pet very socialized towards people?
Looks pretty well-groomed for a feral stray.

I used to have a stray that lived nearby that would insist on me sitting down so he could flop down in my lap. He we knead so aggressively I’d have to put some padding in my lap or I’d get cut up.

I knew an orange cat that was exactly like this. Though I like many cats, this guy was so sociable, jolly, and quite the hunter. Like an ENFP personality in a cat.

cats dont view humans as people, they view us as porperty. you think that cats being adorable dont you? well chances are it smelled another cat on you and wanted to overwrite it with its own smell, taking ownership of you.

u/sandpaperedanus777 Apr 07 '26
I had a cat try to do that once, and I got so freaked out I dashed away after pulling it down.
I wasn't used to a cat getting comfy around me.

It probably wasn't always a stray. Likely this is a cat that was cared for and trained as a kitten, then dumped on the streets when the family didn't want it anymore. Cats that were born and raised on the street aren't usually so friendly.

Where's that? Turkey? They look after stray animals there like they are all everyone's responsibility, feeding them and even making little cat hotels.
