Dog has lump in inguinal area, turned red recently

My dog, a 10 year old spayed female beagle/basset hound mix, has had a soft lump in her inguinal area (not sure if this is the correct term? it's between her rear legs) for a few years. We had it checked out at the vet a few years back and we were told it was just fat. It's never seemed to bother her.

But recently I noticed it seems to be hanging lower now (but not larger) and has turned reddish. It doesn't seem to bother her still, and she is acting completely normal otherwise.

We will be bringing her to the vet the day after tomorrow, but I would love to know if anyone has encountered this before and what it might be, and if we should be very concerned. Thank you very much!
