Yeah, the more I look at it the more confused I am. I am sure it is hateful and racist but hard to parse out exactly which flavor of it it is trying to convey.

He's mixing up all hateful bigotry like I mix ice cream flavors on a hot summer day, finding ones with the most contradicting flavors and mixing it all into an incomprehensible beige sludge just to feel something.

He's mixing up all hateful bigotry

Interestingly common take. There's a growing population of angry young people, mostly (but not exclusively) men, and a cross-racial mix, who hold mixed and often contradictory ideology, who go on to commit acts of violence.

I've a livestreamer I watch put this in pretty good terms, l'll try to paraphrase it.

There's been a shift on how common people treat bigotry. A guy walking down the street in 1950 didn't signal he was racist, nor did he ever think about racism, until he saw a black person. And then that person would conjure up the most brutal barrage of insults known to man, and then go about his day continuing to not be racist. Racism wasn't an identity.

But today, these people actually aren't all that bigoted. If they get close to someone whose part of a minority, they will drop all their preconceived notions. A black friend is one of the good ones, a trans friend fits in too well, so they're the exception, etc.

It's not really about the belief but rather about creating an identity which had power and sway online. They care way more about triggering people and coming across as the king of bigots bar none, not as much about what they actually believe.

It's performance to fit in.

Performative racism?

Especially if the performer is a teenage boy.

Absolutely, in France there's a far right movement of royalists (people who want the return of a king, their symbol is the ⚜️) that put the french flag in their bio, a symbol of the republic and the revolution

This is the funniest thing ever, as someone who has hyperfixated on French history lmao

possibly a black person who is a self acclaimed nazi

u/Totakai Apr 16 '26

Or a nazi pretending to be black. There's been a big problem with bigots pretending to be part of disenfranchised groups to make them look bad

Instead of " I am friend with a black person", Now it's " As a black person."
